Tax credit increased from $200 to $1500!!

If you're thinking about replacing your windows, remember that the NEW energy tax incentive included in the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act 2009 can save you money!

It is important to know that not all ENERGY STAR rated products qualify for this tax credit.

Requirements for this tax credit exceed Energy Star requirements. Regardless of the region of the country, a product is only eligible if it is equal to or below a U-Factor of 0.30 and SHGC of 0.30.

THE AMERICAN RECOVERY & REINVESTMENT ACT:

• Provides a consumer tax credit up to $1,500 for 30% of the cost of the qualified remodeling projects that improve energy efficiency of an existing home - including replacement windows.
• Applies to products "placed in service" from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010.
• Only windows with a U-Value and solar heat gain coefficient of 0.30 and lower qualify.
• Products must be for taxpayer's principle residence.
